Meet Broadview’s newest board member – Keitha Walker, C.S.
“It’s a real pleasure to be asked to serve on Broadview’s board, and I’m very happy to be working with this great group of Christian Scientists,” she told us.
Keitha studied at San Diego State University, and, after graduating, she began a fifteen-year career in business in personnel management.
However, Keitha mentioned, “My real desire was to become a Christian Science practitioner.” She has been listed in the Christian Science Journal since the mid-90’s.
Keitha has been a Christian Science chaplain and served in most offices in her branch churches. She particularly loves Sunday School and Reading Room work. Along the way, she has had several articles published in our church-affiliated magazines and the Christian Science Monitor. In addition, Keitha has served as a board member at different churches and for two terms at the Christian Science nursing facility in San Diego, Sunland Home.
She recently joined First Church of Christ, Scientist in Palos Verdes.
“At the first of this year, I moved from the San Diego area to San Pedro to be nearer my daughter and her family,” Keitha shared.
Since then, she has been actively involved in the Christian Science community in the Los Angeles area. Keitha is thankful for the Christian Science nursing facilities in Christian Science communities all over the world.
“I have the strong conviction that those of us who live in a community which offers a Christian Science nursing facility have something for which we can be especially grateful,” said Keitha.
