Vacation season is beginning and there’s a light-heartedness in the air. Fittingly, our Spiritual Activities Calendar starts off this month with an enthusiastic, joyful song of praise!

Our Broadview community is grateful to feel your engagement with us in these spiritual activities. It is a joy to read the emails of fruitage shared with us.

We’ve shared in the past how these spiritual activities aren’t truly confined to any day, however, sometimes an activity has proved perfect for its designated date.

While the rest of the world was celebrating Valentine’s Day, we were focusing on an especially beautiful sort of love: the love for God. It started with a conversation with a member of our Broadview community. She’s been praying for years about X, Y, and Z, but hasn’t seen progress.

Soon I’ll be joyfully decorating the Broadview Activity Room and preparing for the staff “Secret Valentine” activity.

Mary Baker Eddy became a visionary leader by taking Jesus at his word — especially his promise that his followers would accomplish “greater works than these.”1 We might say the same of the man whose birthday we celebrate today: Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Happy 2023 everyone! This calendar is here to bless you - and our world - this new year! This is because it nudges us to think and love more deeply.

When things feel like they’re spinning out of control here — it happens — we reach for the first two chapters of Matthew. Jesus is born, the Magi bear gifts, Herod spills innocent blood, and the holy family flees.

Ah, the holiday season is upon us! Hallelujah! The month starts with a Bible Lesson encouraging us to praise the Lord. We must affirm this grateful joy for all humanity.

Recently, I called a friend to offer some comfort. In one month, she lost her primary job, a cherished romance, and the place where she was living — with plenty of betrayal and unfairness all around.
