On Thursday, May 26th, Berkeley Hall School third graders blessed Broadview with a wonderful spring concert! This marked the fourth year that Music Director, Geoffrey Fontaine, has brought the third grade classes to Broadview, and the Broadview community is delighted that this has become an annual event.
The concert featured twenty four children enthusiastically singing a wide variety of songs that they introduced themselves with Mr. Fontaine accompanying them on the piano. The concert included songs with inspirational messages, such as ‘The Lord is Good to Me’, ‘God Bless, America’, and ‘Climb Every Mountain.’ There were also lively renditions of ‘I’m an Old Cowhand’, ‘Saludos, Amigos!’, ‘Take Me Out to the Ballgame’, and the charming ‘How Much is that Doggy in the Window’ – complete with lots of realistic barking!
Their performance fittingly opened and closed with ‘Getting to Know You’ from the “King and I.”
After the concert, the children presented Broadview with a beautiful brightly colored hand-made quilt, which a student’s grandmother had made for the class to give to us as a gift. We plan to display it in a prominent place noting it as a gift from the 2015-16 Berkeley Hall third graders!
